Matsuyama (松山) is the capital of the Ehime Prefecture and also the largest city on Shikoku. In the city center, you can find the Matsuyamajo castle. At the castle's hilltop, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city and the Seto Inland Sea. The main reason why this city is so popular is because of Natsume Soseki's popular novel, entitled "Botchan". This novel is often read as part of the Japanese school curriculum, the novel describes Matsuyama during the turbulent Meiji Restoration.
